Bios
Dance Camp Director Betsy
Daley has a Masters Degree in Dance from the University
of Illinois and a Multi-subject Teaching Credential. As a
specialist in dance for young children, she has taught in
the Bay Area for 16 years. Betsy's warm, loving and supportive
manner makes Dance Camp enjoyable for all.
Co-Artistic Director Paula
Bliss is a musician, composer, dancer, choreographer,
writer and performer who teaches Children's Dance at San Jose
State University to future school teachers. She taught for
the Dance Force in San Mateo, and is a music and dance teacher
in many schools in the Santa Cruz area. For over a decade,
Paula has been performing and teaching with Tandy Beal & Company,
has toured California with "Outside Blake's Window," as Seņora
Science in "Listening to the Earth," and has taught creative
movement workshops in California and Hawaii. She is currently
recording CDs of her original music for children's theater
and dance.
Co-Artistic Director Susan
Cambigue-Tracey is Director of Curriculum
and Teaching Artist Training for the Music
Center Education Division, the Performing
Arts Center of Los Angeles County as well
as part time dance faculty at Loyola Marymount
University. Susan is nationally known
for her work with children through adults.
She will direct the dance campers in technique,
improvisation, composition, dance history,
visual arts and poetry connections. A
dance movement specialist for 42 years,
Susan's work reflects her deep respect
for the art of dance and the artist within
each student.
Artist in Residence, British born dancer/choreographer
Madeleine Dahm, is the Artistic
Director of Gaehrung Dance Theatre. Currently an artist in
residence for the Music Centre of Los Angeles County, she
received her formal training at The Martha Graham School in
London.
Head Counselor Nicole
Paneque-Goldfield has studied modern dance and creative
movement, performing in numerous dance productions. She has
worked with Paula Bliss for the past three years and this
will be her sixth year at camp.
Inspired by Paula Bliss to teach dance, Head
Counselor Revka Hovermale studied
at Cabrillo College and now lives in Rhode Island where she
attends Rhode Island College, pursuing a degree in dance.
This is Revka's fifth year at Camp.
